A 21-year-old woman from Holt will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Monday, 2 April 2018) for multiple traffic offences.

At about 1.20am this morning (Monday, 2 April 2018) police observed a silver Ford Falcon sedan travelling south on Starke Street, Holt. The vehicle failed to stop for police when they activated their emergency lights and siren. The vehicle accelerated heavily away from police and drove out of sight.

A short time later, the vehicle turned out of Luke Street, Holt in front of the police vehicle and again tried to evade police. However, a short time later the vehicle collided heavily with the gutter, mounting the green belt and becoming lodged in some hedges.

The driver and her passenger tried to run away from police, however, were taken into custody a short distance from the vehicle.

After speaking with the driver and her passenger, police conducted several checks, resulting in the driver being taken into police custody.

The woman was transported to the ACT Watch House and subsequently charged with fail to stop motor vehicle for police, use unregistered vehicle, use uninsured vehicle, unlicensed driver, number plate/registration not properly issued, negligent driving, and apprehension under warrant.
