A 26-year-old woman will face court for drink driving after she was apprehended over the weekend (Saturday, 10 March 2018).

About 11.15pm, ACT Policing received a report of a possible drunk driver on Maribyrnong Avenue, Kaleen.

It is alleged the driver had swerved on to the wrong side of the road three times before running into the curb, where the vehicle then stopped.

Earlier that evening, ACT Policing had received information of a similar vehicle being involved in a collision on Northbourne Avenue, where a female driver left the scene without providing her details.

After speaking with the driver, police arrested the woman and transported her to the ACT Watch House.

The woman was subsequently issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a collision.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court in April 2018.

ACT Policing would like to thank the member of the public who called police. Their actions provided police with valuable information and ensured this reckless driver was removed from our roads.
