Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Turner

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the aggravated robbery of the Rugby Union Club in Turner early Sunday morning (31 May 2015).

About 12.40am, three males entered the club. Two of the offenders were armed with weapons, a baseball bat and a large machete and made threatening demands to the club’s staff members.

One staff member was ordered to lie on the floor while the other was guided towards a safe. When the safe did not open, the victim was then guided to the poker machine room and was ordered to open the machines.

The offenders obtained a sum of cash and then fled the club.

The first offender is described as about 178cm (5’10”) in height, wearing a black facemask, a thick blue jacket, and black tracksuit pants.

The second is described as about 188cm (6’2”) in height, wearing a balaclava, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down both legs, and white sneakers.

The third offender is described as wearing all black clothing.

ACT Policing is seeking CCTV from the area and investigations are ongoing.
