ACT Policing is seeking to identify two women who assisted a 17-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted in the City in July.

About 1.50am on Saturday, 29 July 2023, the two women (pictured) were approached on Petrie Plaza in the City by another woman who was looking for her friend.

The two women assisted the other woman and together they located the 17-year-old friend in Tocumwal Lane. A man, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted the 17-year-old, was also in Tocumwal Lane at the time.

Police arrested and charged the man with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, and two counts of common assault.

Today, police are releasing images of the two women who provided assistance on that night in the hope they identify themselves to police, or people who know them provide their identities.

Anyone who can identify the women in the images, or who witnessed the assault in July and who has not yet spoken to police, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference number 7498453. Information can be provided anonymously.
