UPDATE Image released to identify one punch offender IDENTIFIED

Earlier this week, we sought the public's assistance to identify a man in relation to a one-punch assault in Civic. 

Today (Friday, 6 October 2023) the man handed himself into police.

ACT Policing has released an image of a man believed to have committed a one punch assault in Civic on Sunday, 24 September 2023.   

About 2am, police allege the man assaulted another man outside the 88mph nightclub.  

The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the assault, and was subsequently transported to hospital.  

The alleged offender is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, with a medium build, dark hair, and a beard. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark pants, and a black satchel bag at the time of the incident.  

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the alleged assault outside the venue, or who may have information regarding the incident.  

There may have also been a prior altercation between the victim and the alleged offender inside the venue. Police would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed this altercation.
