Update: death in Kambah

ACT Policing’s investigation into the death of a man at a Kambah home during the early hours of Wednesday (20 January) are continuing.

ACT Policing Criminal Investigations Team is investigating the circumstances leading up to a disturbance, which left a 47-year-old Waramanga man deceased and a 41-year-old Waramanga woman seriously injured.

Initial enquiries have revealed that the pair were in a relationship and were house-sitting at the residence in Everard Place, Kambah, at the time.

The woman is continuing to receive treatment at The Canberra Hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

ACT Policing have notified the deceased man’s immediate family, the woman’s immediate family and the residents of the home. All have requested privacy during this difficult time.

The ACT Coroner has confirmed that a post-mortem of the deceased will be conducted today (22 January 2016).

ACT Policing anticipate they will remain at the scene for several more days as they continue to examine the crime scene.
