UPDATE ACT Policing Exhibit Management Centre to temporarily close

Firearms Registry UPDATE at 1pm, Thursday 6 June 2024

Until staff are back working at the facility, administrative requests relating to firearms licences including new applications are not able to be processed. Urgent matters should be discussed with Registry staff via email or phone - (02) 5126 9076 or ACTFirearmsRegistry@afp.gov.au

Work is being conducted as quickly as possible to resolve the water supply issue and return staff to the Exhibit Management Centre in Mitchell.

ACT Policing’s Exhibit Management Centre in Mitchell, including the ACT Firearms Registry, has temporarily closed to the public.    

Earlier today (Wednesday, 5 June 2024), the water main to the building was damaged which has impacted the water supply to the building.    

Efforts are being made to fix the damaged main as quickly as possible, however no return date has been confirmed. We will provide further information when it is available.    

Property and vehicle collections have been suspended at this time, however the ACT Policing Property Office can still be contacted on (02) 5126 9074.     

People seeking to surrender firearms, or those with inquiries in relation to firearms licence renewals, firearm inspections, or appointments at the firearms registry, should contact the ACT Firearms Registry on (02) 5126 9076 or ACTFirearmsRegistry@afp.gov.au.    

People seeking to retrieve property held by police should wait until the facility is re-opened.
