Two teenagers to face court for vandalism spree

Facing court

Two 17-year-old boys will face the ACT Children’s Court following a vandalism spree at school premises in Deakin, Red Hill and Yarralumla, and a Manuka café in July.

Police will allege the duo smashed 138 building and vehicle windows early on the morning of Monday July 9, 2018 causing in excess of $100 000 damage.

As a result of information received from the public and further police enquiries, police executed search warrants in Griffith and Ainslie. Information was obtained during the execution of these warrants, and summonses were issued for the two teens.

The young people have each been charged with six counts of Joint Commission of Damaging Property, and are due to face the ACT Children’s Court today (Monday, 19 November 2018).

Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the public who responded to their request for information following the incident.
