Taskforce Nemesis investigates shooting incident in Kambah

OMCG member to face Court following seizure of drugs, firearms, ammunition and explosives

ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis detectives are investigating an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) related incident that occurred in Kambah last night (Wednesday, 14 September 2017).

About 10:15pm police were called to a residence in Pinkerton Circuit, Kambah following reports a group of men had forcefully entered a residence and shots had been fired.

A man suffered gunshot wounds to the legs, and was assaulted before the group fled the area in a number of vehicles. An adult female and a young child were also present at the residence at the time of the incident.

ACT Ambulance Service transported the man to The Canberra Hospital for treatment.

AFP Forensic Services attended and conducted an examination of the scene.

Acting Superintendent of Criminal Investigations Matt Reynolds said violent acts such as this will not be tolerated in the ACT.

“ACT Policing is firmly committed to the safety of our community.”

“This was a targeted incident and Taskforce Nemesis, in addition to every ACT Policing officer will continue to our efforts to disrupt OMCG members and their activities.” Acting Superintendent Reynolds said. 

ACT Policing is urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles driving at speed in Kambah around 10:00pm last night, or who has any information or CCTV that could assist police, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via their website.
