Shots fired during home invasion and arson attack in Calwell

Overnight, ACT Policing responded to reports of shots fired at two houses in Calwell in what police believe is a criminal gang related incident.

About 10.45pm Thursday, 28 June 2018, shots were fired at two residences in Calwell and three cars were set alight. One person was injured in the incident; he received initial treatment at the scene from the ACT Ambulance Service before being transported to hospital.

Three crime scenes have been established, and AFP Forensic Police attended to conduct examinations of the scenes.

As police believe this is a criminal gang related shooting, Taskforce Nemesis is investigating.

An ACT Policing Representative will address the media regarding this incident at the Winchester Police Centre during Friday, 29 June at a time to be advised.
