Second man to face court for aggravated burglary and assault of a police officer

A 22-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Tuesday, 6 March 2018) in relation to an aggravated burglary and the assault of a police officer yesterday in Gungahlin.

About 4.45am yesterday (Monday, 5 March 2018) ACT Policing responded to a report of an aggravated robbery in progress at the Gungahlin Marketplace.

After attempting to flee the scene, two men were arrested by police.

A 33-year-old Monash man faced court yesterday in relation to the incident.

The second man will face court this morning after being charged with trespass on premises, two counts of aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possess offensive weapon with intent, and two counts of obstruct/ resist territory public official (knowingly).
