Public assistance helps link 14 historic aggravated crimes

UPDATE

ACT Policing has linked a further eight historic aggravated robberies and one aggravated burglary at clubs and licensed premises thanks to the public’s assistance.

Last month police identified a critical link across five historic aggravated robberies in Canberra between 2009 and 2010. Police now believe another nine incidents between 2016 and 2018 are also linked.

Detective Station Sergeant Harry Hains – Crime Manager said he would like to thank members of the public who contacted CrimeStoppers and provided information following his appeal.

“Police are now appealing for information on a Subaru Brumby seen travelling with a white Toyota Hilux between 12am and 4pm on 11 December 2017. The vehicles may have been seen in Conder and Point Hut Crossing,” Detective Station Sergeant Hains said.

“We would like to thank members of the public who contacted CrimeStoppers and provided information following ACT Policing’s earlier appeal.

“Every piece of information could help police, no matter how small you think it is. Even if you aren’t sure it is relevant, it may be the missing piece we have been searching for.”

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
