Police urge community to stay safe

ACT Policing is reminding the Canberra community to remain vigilant after an assault occurred within the Australian National University campus on Tuesday (March 24).

Around 6.30pm, an unknown male approached the female victim in the carpark near the Fulton Muir Building on Daley Road and allegedly assaulted her.

This is the second reported assault within ACT in as many weeks however; at this point there are no links.

Police are urging the community to take precautionary steps to ensure personal safety such as travelling with a friend, staying in well-lit areas and being aware of surroundings. If attacked, make lots of noise and attract attention.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed either of the incidents or who can assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website with any information.
