Police seeking witnesses or dash-cam footage of ram raid at Kaleen Shops

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a ram raid at the Kaleen Shopping Centre, Georgina Crescent, Kaleen this morning, Saturday 10 February 2018.

About 4.10am, an unsuccessful attempt was made to steal an automatic teller machine (ATM) from inside the shopping centre, causing damage to the ATM and the shopping centre.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team is investigating the incident.

ACT Policing is also aware of an incident earlier this morning, which may be linked to the ram raid.

About 3.10am this morning (Saturday 10 February 2018), an unsuccessful attempt was made by three males to break into a pay station at the Canberra Centre. The males caused damage to the pay station, which was located inside the shopping centre car park.

The males left the location in a maroon coloured Commodore sedan. At the time of the offence, the maroon Commodore had two stolen number plates attached to it. The rear number plate was YEJ07R (ACT registration) and the front number plate was ZWI584 (Victorian registration).

Police are calling for anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the maroon Commodore sedan or information in relation to either incident to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
