Police seeking assistance in identifying man approaching students in Belconnen

ACT Policing is investigating several incidents in the Belconnen area where school children have been approached by a man in a white sedan.

Police have received a number of reports of a man approaching students before and after school in the suburbs of Melba, Flynn and Fraser. As a result of these reports there is an increased police presence in and around these suburbs.

ACT Policing is seeking to identify the man who is depicted in the attached face fit diagram.

The man’s vehicle has been described as a small white four door sedan that possibly has black louvres on the rear window.

ACT Policing is working closely with the Education Directorate, who remind parents and guardians to help our children understand the importance of stranger safety and reporting any unusual approaches immediately.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
