Police seek witnesses to explosives incident in Belconnen

ACT Policing is calling for information from the public regarding an explosives incident in Belconnen last night (Monday, 17 February 2020).

About 9pm, police responded to reports of an explosion at the Oracle Apartment complex, located at the corner of College Street and Benjamin Way, Belconnen.

Upon attendance, police located the remnants of what appears to be a commercial grade firework in the common courtyard of the apartment complex.

Police seized the explosive remnants, which will be submitted for forensic examination.

The incident did not cause any significant property damage, and police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to public safety.
