Police investigate shots fired and vehicle arson in Kambah; OMCG related

OMCG member to face Court following seizure of drugs, firearms, ammunition and explosives

ACT Policing Criminal Investigations detectives are investigating an incident in Kambah overnight (Friday, 7 July).

About 2am police were called to Chirnside Place, Kambah following reports of shots fired and three vehicles alight at a residence. ACT Fire and Rescue attended the location and extinguished the fires.

AFP Forensic Services attended and conducted an examination of the scene, identifying damage to the residence consistent with a firearm being discharged.

Police believe this incident to be Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) related.

Detective Superintendent of Criminal Investigations Ben Cartwright said it was fortunate that no one was injured during this incident.

“ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis will be investigating this incident and following all leads of enquiry,” Detective Superintendent Cartwright said.
