Police investigate attempted aggravated robbery in Charnwood

ACT Policing is investigating an attempted aggravated robbery in Charnwood last night (Sunday, 29 September 2019).

About 8.25pm, two male offenders armed with a firearm and a machete entered a takeaway shop demanding money and threatening staff.

A short scuffle ensued, during which the firearm was discharged twice inside the shop, before the offenders fled the scene empty handed.

A crime scene was established, and AFP Forensics attended to examine the scene.

The first offender is described as male, about 170cm (5’7”) tall, with a medium build and olive complexion. Both offenders were wearing dark clothing.
