Outlaw Motorcycle Gang National Run

OMCG member to face Court following seizure of drugs, firearms, ammunition and explosives

ACT Policing closely monitored approximately 100 local and interstate members from the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang during their National Run to Canberra over the weekend (19-20 August).

ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis, Traffic Operations and General Duties members were joined by members of NSW Police Strike Force Raptor and Victoria Police members of the National Anti-Gangs Squad in the operation to monitor the group and respond to any criminal activity.

Over the course of the weekend, police issued 12 Traffic Infringement Notices for offences including riding or driving unregistered vehicles, riding or driving unlicensed and disobeying road rules.

During the early hours of Sunday 20 August, ACT Policing responded to a report of a disturbance at the Capital Mens Club in Fyshwick between a group of Comanchero members. City Patrols and Regional Targeting Team members attended and spoke with a number of witnesses. Police directed a number of persons to leave the premises and ensured they left the area without incident. ACT Policing investigations are ongoing.

No arrests were made over the weekend as part of the operation.
