Man found hiding in cupboard following Charnwood aggravated robbery

ACT Policing has arrested a 32-year-old man of no fixed abode following an aggravated robbery at the Coles Express service station in Charnwood yesterday morning (Saturday, 8 March).

Around 6am, a man entered the service station in a red Mitsubishi Lancer and filled up the vehicle with petrol before entering the store and removing two drinks from the fridge.

The man then approached the counter, produced a knife and made demands for cash.

Without obtaining any cash, the man turned around and walked out of the store, leaving in the vehicle.

About 10.30pm, acting on information received, police attended a residence in Chisolm executed a search.

The alleged offender was found hiding in a wardrobe and was taken into custody.

The man was taken to the ACT Watch House and is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery
