Man to face court for multiple charges

Facing court

A 51-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning (Monday, 2 April 2018) for multiple offences.

At about 5.40pm yesterday, (Sunday, 1 April 2018), a man attended a residence in Hackett and was refused entry by the lawful occupiers of the residence.

The man then walked to the rear of the residence, locating part of a metal bed frame. The man allegedly picked up the metal framing and used it to damage a kitchen window.

After talking with the people inside the residence, the man is alleged to have damaged further windows before entering the residence and leaving via the front door.

The man, still carrying the metal framing, has allegedly damaged a vehicle parked out the front of the residence, before he walked away.

A short time later police arrived, arrested the man and transported him to the ACT Watch House.

The man was subsequently charged with one count of trespass on premises, two counts of damage property, and one count of common assault.
