Man to face court for historic shooting

Taskforce Nemesis continues to target and disrupt criminal gangs within the ACT with a former OMCG member to face the ACT Magistrates Court today.

On Friday 10 March 2017, ACT Policing responded to a report of a vehicle fire at a house on Ellerston Avenue, Isabella Plains.

After police attendance and subsequent investigations of the vehicle fire police located gunshot damage to the Ellerston Avenue house.

A 21-year-old man (currently remanded in custody for unrelated matters) will face court charged with arson, discharge firearm endangering life and unauthorized possess/use of a firearm.

Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said Taskforce Nemesis continue to investigate historic incidents involving criminal gangs.  If you have been involved in any of these violent offences Detectives will continue to pursue you.

“You could be tapped on the shoulder at any time and we’ll act on any new information received from the public.”

“I also warn anybody, particularly young men, who are considering joining these criminal gangs that you will be used by the gangs to perform the most violent crimes, but abandoned by them when caught.”
