Man to face court for aggravated robbery and reckless driving

ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old man following an investigation by members of Criminal Investigations into two aggravated robberies.

Police will allege that on Monday, 11 February 2019, the man approached a member of the public with a knife in a car park in Chisholm. The member of the public was threatened with the knife before escaping from the offender and seeking help. The offender left the location in a white Ford Ranger with blue ‘GT’ stripes.

On Tuesday, 12 February 2019, police allege the man approached another member of the public with a knife in Greenway. The member of the public was threatened with the knife before being assaulted by the offender and another person who were seen to leave the location in a white Ford Ranger with blue ‘GT’ stripes.

On Wednesday, 13 February 2019, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the white Ford Ranger with blue ‘GT’ stripes in Chisholm. The Ford Ranger failed to stop for police and a pursuit was subsequently commenced. Due to the driving manner of the vehicle, the pursuit was terminated.

On Thursday, 14 February 2019, ACT Policing Officers attended an address in Conder, where the man was arrested.

He will face court today (Saturday, 16 February 2019) charged with aggravated robbery, ride motor vehicle without consent, drive motor vehicle without consent, fail to stop for police and furious/reckless driving.
