Man to face court for aggravated burglary

An 18-year-old north Canberra man will face the ACT Childrens Court today (Tuesday, 10 April 2018) following an aggravated burglary in Watson on Saturday, 17 March 2017.

About 10.47pm that night, two males wearing balaclavas forced entry into the residence before threatening the occupants.

A brief altercation occurred, resulting in a male occupant suffering a laceration to his head. The victim’s dog had its ear severed with a machete and a firearm was discharged into the premises by an offender.

The man was arrested by members from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations. He has been charged with aggravated burglary.

On Wednesday 4 April 2018, ACT Policing issued a number of face-fits and received helpful information in relation to this matter. We would like to thank the public for their assistance.
