Man charged with attempting to steal a motor vehicle

A 37-year-old man will face court at a later date following an incident in Catchpole Street, Macquarie.

About 4.00am, today (Saturday 13 January 2018), the man was located sitting in a parked black coloured Mazda 3.

The man allegedly told police a friend had given him a key to the vehicle, but was unable to show police the key.

Following additional police enquiries, the man was taken into custody and transported to the ACT Watch House.

The man has been charged with attempt take motor vehicle without consent and unlawful possession of stolen property.
