Information sought in relation to stolen tools

ACT Policing is seeking information from the public following a burglary that occurred in Symonston on the weekend, during which a number of tools were stolen.

On Saturday, 8 June 2024, approximately $10,000 worth of tools and equipment were allegedly stolen from the bulk recycling centre, Symonston.

The stolen tools were later listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, where it is believed members of the public inadvertently purchased the stolen tools.

About 6.50pm on Monday, 10 June, police executed a search warrant in Chisholm following reports that the stolen tools were being sold from a residence.

During the search warrant, police located a number of stolen Milwaukee branded tools belonging to the bulk recycling centre.

Police would like to emphasise that members of the public who may have inadvertently purchased the tools are not in any trouble, however would request anyone who believes they bought any of the tools, or who may have any information in relation to this incident, to come forward.
