ACT Policing has released composite ‘facefit’ images of two men seen in the area of an aggravated burglary at the Manhattan Apartments, Canberra City on 14 March 2017.

Around 9.50pm, three male offenders wearing balaclavas kicked in the door of the premises before threatening the two occupants. A brief scuffle ensued resulting in a male occupant suffering head injuries. He was later transported to the Canberra Hospital for treatment. A female occupant also suffered minor injuries. A small amount of cash was taken during the home invasion.

At the time of the incident ACT Policing sought assistance from the public to identify the offenders involved. ACT Policing Criminal Investigations officers progressed the investigation, liaising with victims and witnesses.

Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the two men seen in the area of the Manhattan Apartments at the time of the aggravated burglary. Police believe they may be able to assist with enquiries.

Officer in Charge Criminal Investigations Response Detective Acting Station Sergeant Tony Crocker said police take instances of violence seriously.

“Police, and the Canberra community, will not tolerate violence. This was a brutal attack which resulted in significant injury to the victim’s face which requires ongoing medical treatment.”

“We asking that members of the public who recognise the images of these two men contact police. Every little bit of information could help,” Detective Acting Station Sergeant Crocker said.
