ACT records third fatality in 2020

Three people have died on ACT roads this year

A woman has died following a collision on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge between a wheelchair accessible motorcycle and a car.

About 2.45pm today (Monday, 20 July 2020), ACT Policing were called to the collision at the northern end of the bridge. 

The motorcycle rider was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics however died at hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations were carried out. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during this time.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are investigating the circumstances of the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

The families have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time and no further details will be provided.
