ACT records fifth road fatality for 2024

A 55-year-old Torrens man has died following a collision on Athllon Drive, Wanniassa last week.    

About 7.30am on Thursday, 23 May 2024, police responded to reports of a collision on Athllon Drive between a motorcycle travelling southbound and a red Mitsubishi travelling northbound just before the intersection with Sulwood Drive.   

Police and emergency services attended, with ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treating the man – who was riding the motorcycle – at the scene before transporting him to hospital in a serious condition.   

Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, 25 May 2024.    

This is the fifth fatality on ACT roads in 2024.    

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
