Reporting someone missing

Reporting a missing person

Myth: you have to wait 24 hours to report someone as missing

Incorrect

If a person goes missing and you’re worried about their safety and welfare, you can lodge a missing person report with police IMMEDIATELY.

You definitely shouldn’t wait 24 hours, as in a lot of instances the work police can do in the first 24 hours can be critical in locating someone safe and well and reuniting them with loved ones.
