A 47-year-old Dunlop woman will face court for drink driving charges after she was apprehended on Wednesday (17 October, 2018).

About 3.15pm, police attended William Hovell Drive where a Jeep Cherokee had collided with a steel barrier west bound near Coulter Drive.

It is alleged the vehicle had also been involved in a collision with another vehicle a short time earlier on Anzac Parade, Russell.

The driver left the scene and continued with a flat tyre and other panel damage before colliding with a steel barrier on William Hovell Drive near Drake-Brockman Drive.

The driver provided police with a sample of breath, returning a positive reading.

The woman was taken to Belconnen Police Station where her breath analysis result was 0.314, more than six times the legal limit of a full license holder.

Police served the driver with an immediate suspension to her license and she has been summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
