Witnesses sought to multiple vehicle break ins

Can you help?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to multiple vehicle break-ins in Canberra’s South over the past two weeks.

The break-ins occurred in the Molonglo Valley, Weston Creek and Woden areas.

While the offenders gained entry to many of the vehicles by smashing windows, some of the vehicles were left unlocked.

Vehicle thefts are often opportunistic crimes where unsecure cars or cars containing valuable items are attractive targets. Items typically stolen include cash, electronic devices, garage remotes, house keys, sunglasses and wallets.

Police are reminding people to remove all valuables from their car and ensure the car is locked and secure before leaving their car parked.

Anyone who has not yet reported a damaged vehicle is urged to call ACT Policing on 131 444.

Anyone who may have any information or CCTV footage that could assist police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
