Witnesses sought; Curtin robbery

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Curtin last night (Friday 12 June).

About 9pm, a man entered the Statesman Hotel drive-through bottle shop area on Strangways Street, Curtin. The man threatened staff with a knife, demanding cash and cigarettes. Staff complied with the demands and the offender stuffed cash and cigarettes into a pink reusable shopping bag. The man then fled on foot towards Theodore Street and left the area in the front passenger seat of a silver Ford Falcon sedan towards Cotter Road.

The man was described as being approximately 5’7” (170cm) tall, of a slim to medium build, wearing grey hooded trench coat, blue jeans, light coloured shoes, gloves and a black balaclava.

ACT Policing attended the scene and spoke with witnesses and sought CCTV from the area. Investigations are ongoing.
