Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Page

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Page on Saturday night (2 May).

About 10.35pm, police were responding to an incident of a male allegedly holding a machete and in the company of two other males on Petterd Street.

Police attended and saw a man who was hiding an object behind his legs. The man and one of the other males ran off however police were able to detain one of the males.

During this time ACT Policing Operations received a phone call from a man advising that he had just been robbed by three men with a large knife.

The victim was walking home from the Belconnen Mall along Hannaford Street, opposite the entrance to Bynoe Place when he heard someone run up to him from behind.

The victim saw an arm covered by a long green sleeve and holding a very long knife come over his right shoulder and a knife was held against his throat.

The man demanded money and pushed the victim to the ground where he was held by the two other offenders.

The three offenders ran off towards the Page shops with a small sum of cash, an I-phone 5 and the victims black backpack.

The first offender is described as Caucasian, aged in his 40s, wearing a light grey ‘hoody’ and dark track pants, carrying a long knife, possible a machete.

The second offender is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s, wearing dark ‘hoody’ and dark pants.

The third offender is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s, wearing a green ‘hoody’ and dark pants.

Police are urging anyone who was in the Page area between 10pm and 10.30pm and saw three Caucasian men looking suspicious to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via https://act.crimestoppers.com.au.  Information can be provided anonymously.
