Wanted man charged with multiple offences

A 19-year-old man has been arrested following a significant police operation in Curtin yesterday.

ACT Criminal Investigations had been seeking this man for a number of days following his alleged involvement in multiple incidents.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, 30 April 2020) investigators received information that the man was located at a residence in Curtin and a coordinated arrest operation was established.

The man was subsequently arrested without incident. Police recovered a firearm and items of property believed to have been stolen.

The man has been charged with multiple offences including drive a vehicle without consent (x2), fail to stop for police (x2), arson (x2), possess offensive weapon, burglary and theft.

He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today, where police will oppose bail.
