Trio arrested during Garran burglary

ACT Policing arrested three men in a Garran unit complex about 3.35 this morning (Wednesday, 27 May 2020).

Police responded to a report that the garage area of a unit complex had been broken into and of people behaving suspiciously there. Three men were apprehended at the scene conducting what police will allege was a burglary. One of the men was allegedly found in possession of methylamphetamine with an estimated street value in excess of $5000.

The first man will face charges of aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft and two counts of property damage.

The second man will face charges of aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft, property damage and trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis.

The third man will face charges of aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft and two counts of property damage

All three will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today.

As part of the ‘Outsmart the Offender’ campaign, police are reminding residents to report suspicious activity by calling ACT Policing Operations on 131 444 if they believe a crime is in progress, or 000 in an emergency.
