Alleged act of indecency in Conder

This morning (Tuesday 25 September 2018) ACT Policing responded to a report of an alleged indecent exposure at Conder. Following police enquiries a man was located and is currently in custody.

Taskforce Tydeus is investigating whether this man has links to any other matters under investigation by the taskforce.

Child approached in Wanniassa

ACT Policing Taskforce Tydeus officers are investigating a report of a child approach yesterday afternoon (Monday 24 September 2018) in Wanniassa. The incident involved a student awaiting pick-up by a parent, being approached by a man in a white dual cab utility.

The man is described as Caucasian, between 40 and 50 years of age, with shoulder length hair, a large ear piercing and a long full face beard.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is urged to contact police.

There have been 18 child approaches reported to police since February, 2018.

ACT Policing takes all reports seriously and examines all available information in order to identify suspects.

Police are reviewing and investigating all reports of child approaches received since February and are asking anyone with information to email Op-Tydeus@afp.gov.au.

Police encourage parents, guardians and teachers to make sure children understand how to keep themselves safe, particularly when walking to and from school, and to teach children about stranger safety. Police are patrolling schools in the Canberra region. The quicker police can respond and attend to an incident of this nature, the quicker they can target the area and surrounds.
