Second man charged with murder of Eden Waugh

Facing court

A 22-year-old Ainslie man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 24 February 2018) charged with the murder of 37-year-old Eden Waugh in 2016.

About 7.45pm, on Thursday, 3 November 2016, police were notified of a disturbance and an injured man at Windeyer Street in Watson. On arrival, police located a man who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

Following an extensive investigation, the 22-year-old man will be charged with one count of murder. Additionally, the man will be charged with one count of aggravated burglary in relation to an incident at Mr Waugh’s house in September 2016. Police will oppose bail.

The charging of this man is in addition to the charging of a 31-year-old man, also with the murder of Mr Waugh, in December 2017.

The investigation into the tragic death of Eden Waugh is continuing and police cannot rule out laying further charges.

ACT Policing is urging anyone who may have any information in relation to the murder of Eden Waugh to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
