Police seek witnesses to violent assault in Civic

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a violent assault in Civic on Saturday 17 February 2018.

About 4.10am, Police were called to a disturbance on the corner of East Row and Alinga Street, Civic. Upon arrival, police located a man sitting at a bus stop on East Row, near the Sydney building.

It is alleged the injured male had been fighting with another man on East Row, just outside the Sydney building.

It is further alleged a woman was also involved in the fight, which resulted in the first male sustaining serious injuries.

Members of the public were observed filming the incident on mobile phones. One of the males filming is described as tall African appearance, wearing black pants and red Nike shoes.

Police are calling for anyone who may have witnessed and/ or filmed the incident, or have any information in relation to the incident to contact police on 131 444, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
