Police seek public information over vandalism incidents

Can you help?

ACT Policing is calling on information from the public regarding a concerning number of vandalism incidents across the ACT in recent weeks.

Police are aware of approximately 50 instances of criminal damage caused to glass panels at bus shelters.

The damage generally occurs overnight, and is believed to be caused by a projectile being fired from a sling shot or other projectile device.

ACT Policing would like to remind those responsible that these acts are not harmless fun – they are criminal offences costing thousands of dollars to repair. Offenders could face serious penalties including fines and/or imprisonment.

Anyone who has any information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
