Police seek offender of nightclub assault

ACT Policing is seeking to a person of interest in relation to an altercation at the Academy nightclub on 10 August.

About 2.25am, a brief altercation occurred between two males on the dance floor of the Academy nightclub, Civic. As a result, one male was transported to the Canberra Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The offending male stayed at the nightclub for several minutes before exiting with a group of people.

The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, about 180cm to 185cm (5’11” to 6’2”) tall, with dark hair and a medium build.

ACT Policing has recently obtained CCTV images of the alleged offender and each member of the group with whom he left.

Police are urging anyone who may be able to identify any member of this group, or may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
