Police seek footage of assault and fireworks in Forde

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses or footage which could help identify a group of people involved in an assault in Forde on Sunday night (6 September 2020).

About 11.40pm police received reports of fireworks being let off near Jessie Street by a group of people.

A resident confronted the group and was subsequently assaulted before the offenders fled. The resident was later treated by paramedics at the scene.

Consumer fireworks are illegal in the ACT and their use can lead to significant injuries.  A firework is an explosive device under the Dangerous Substances Act 2004 and their use should be reported to police.
