Police seek dash-cam footage or witnesses to collision on Monaro Highway, Hume

ACT Policing is seeking dash-cam footage or witnesses to a two vehicle collision which occurred in the southbound lanes on the Monaro Highway, Hume.

About 10.30pm on Thursday, 8 March 2018, police attended a motor vehicle collision adjacent to the model aircraft club between Monaro Park Dog Boarding and the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC), Monaro Highway, Hume.

It is alleged a white coloured Mitsubishi Magna, bearing ACT registration YDM04A, was travelling at speed when it collided with the rear of another vehicle.

The other vehicle involved in the incident was a red coloured Subaru XV, bearing NSW registration DDM17J.

The impact caused the white Mitsubishi to flip onto its roof on the side of the road and the red Subaru was forced into the dirt off the shoulder of the road.

The driver of the white Mitsubishi fled the scene.

Police located the male a short distance from the scene, where he was taken into custody and charged in relation to the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by ACT Policing.
