Police seek assistance in identifying iPhone thieves

About 8.45pm on Sunday, 4 March 2018, ACT Policing received a complaint where two males stole an iPhone mobile telephone which had been advertised for sale on Gumtree.

It is alleged the phone was stolen as the seller was showing two phones to offenders posing as potential buyers. The offenders fled the scene on foot.

The first male is described as being African in appearance, approximately 180-200cm tall, of slim build with short curly hair.

The second male is described as being African in appearance, approximately 170-180cm tall, of slim build, with short curly hair.

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to identify offenders involved, as they have received several complaints of a similar nature.

Police are reminding the public to:

  • Record the serial number, make, model, colour, size, etc. of any specific or valuable items (i.e. mobile phones).
  • Do not invite strangers to your residence.
  • Do not open your door to unidentified people.
  • Be alert when selling items online.
  • Be aware of scams.
