Police release CCTV footage to identify alleged offenders in Petrie Plaza assault

ACT Policing has released CCTV footage of four people who allegedly assaulted a 62-year-old man in Civic on Monday, 9 December 2019.

Police believe the group approached the man in Petrie Plaza about 9.15pm. It is alleged the group then chased the man for short distance before assaulting him, and running from the scene in the direction of Garema Place once members of the public intervened.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Police are now releasing CCTV of the group in the moments before the assault in order to identify the alleged offenders.

Anyone who can identify the alleged offenders from the CCTV footage, or anyone who witnessed the assault who has not yet spoken to police, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6471187.
