Police investigate suspicious fire in Banks

ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious fire in Banks this morning (Tuesday 31 December 2019).

At about 12.30am police responded to a house fire at a unit in Peron Place.

ACT Fire and Rescue attended a short time later and extinguished the fire.

Three police officers were treated for smoke inhalation and released from hospital later this morning.

Following analysis of the scene, police and fire investigators believe the fire was deliberately lit.

The circumstances surrounding the fire are being investigated by Criminal Investigations detectives.
