Police investigate shooting in Richardson

ACT Policing is investigating a shooting overnight (Monday 11 March 2019) where one person suffered a gunshot wound.

Shortly after midnight, police received reports of gun fire at a home in Richardson.

Police believe a number of people approached the house and started shooting.

Three people were in the house at the time. One person was shot in the arm and transported by ACT Ambulance Service to hospital for treatment.

ACT Policing recovered five spent casings.

Early investigations suggest the shooting may be related to Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations is investigating.

While investigations are in the early stages, ACT Policing remains focused on community safety and Canberrans should expect to see a more visible police presence in the coming days.
