Police investigate fatal collision in Farrer

ACT Policing is investigating a single vehicle collision in Farrer this morning (Thursday, June 18) in which a male driver has died.

About 6.40am police responded to a report of a collision on Dookie Street, Farrer.

Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, which occurred after the vehicle driven by the man collided with a tree.

ACT Ambulance Services attended the collision but unfortunately could not revive the man and he later died. He was the sole occupant of the car.

While police are noting this as the eighth fatality on Canberra’s roads this year, a determination is yet to be made as to whether this was a road fatality or the result of an unrelated medical condition. This will be a matter for the Coroner.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team is requesting that any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website.
