Police car rammed overnight in Fairbairn
About 4am today (Monday, 14 October 2019) police were notified of a man asleep in a vehicle at Fairbairn.
Police attended and located a 25-year-old man asleep in a Toyota with no number plates believed to have been stolen.
When the man was woken by police he attempted to drive away, colliding with the police vehicle.
Shortly after he was removed from the vehicle and arrested.
Inside the vehicle police located a replica firearm and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The man was charged with disqualified driving, drug driving and breach of bail. He is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today. Further charges may be laid.
