Police arrest two wanted men

Yesterday (13 June), ACT Policing arrested a 31-year-old Isabella Plains man and a 37-year-old Watson man, both wanted on First Instance Warrants.

The 31-year-old Isabella Plains man was in breach of bail conditions and wanted on a First Instance Warrant issued in relation to an alleged assault. ACT Policing recently issued a public appeal on social media in relation to the 31-year-old, asking anyone who saw him to contact police immediately. Investigations led police to intercept a taxi about 11.10pm last night (13 June) in Macquarie. Police located the 31-year-old man in the taxi and he was taken to the ACT Watch House. He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

The 37-year-old Watson man was wanted on a First Instance Warrant issued for failing to appear in court on allegations of assault. Investigation into the whereabouts of the man led police to a home in Watson yesterday (13 June). About 3.15pm, police located the man at the home in Watson and he was taken to the ACT Watch House. He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.

The two arrests were unrelated.
